Congratulations to everyone that passed their gradings on 1st July 2018. Keep up the good work, train hard and reap the rewards.

Dan grading results will be after the lesson on 8/7/18

Next Grading will be on 16th December 2018.

Pre-grading  lesson 10 – 11am General Grading 11am – 12pm Any 1st Kyu & 1st Dan gradings will follow immediately after the General grading.

The grading for 1st Kyu’s and 1st Dan’s going for their next belt will take place  directly after the general grading.

(Please can you make sure that you have knowledge of Gichin Funakoshi, Dojo Kun and Dojo Etiquette. Ensure that you have written your Black Belt letter and have been assessed by Sensei Chris).

David Alleyn Sensei – Chief Instructor of the School of Japanese Karate has been awarded the grade of 7th Dan Shotokan Karate by the tech. committee of WAKO GB, – AMA and by Mr T Hibbert MBE, FSMA.


If you are interested in Grading for Coloured or Black Belts you can go to the yellow box above and click on “classes” and follow the arrows to the right to reach “Grading” where you will be able to print off your grading syllabus.


The total cost for the whole four-week course is:

£18 for juniors
£20 for adults
and it includes a free lesson! The membership during this time is free, but you may apply for it after you have completed the introductory course. If you decide to join us as a member at the end of the four-week course.
