1. Membership & Joining

Joining Packages

  • New students who complete a trial can buy a discounted joining package.
  • You have a 7‑day cooling‑off period for the joining package only.
  • Clothing must be unworn and unopened for a partial refund.
  • If you move more than 15 miles away, you have 7 days from joining to request a partial refund (admin fees apply).

Instalment Plans

  • If you pay your joining package in instalments and leave without notice, the full package price becomes due.
  • Any uniform or pads included must be returned unused and in original packaging.

2. Lesson Payments & Attendance

Lesson Payments

  • Choose a main class and pay in blocks of 4, 12, 24, 48 weeks, or Unlimited Monthly.
  • 4‑week payments do not include free lessons; all other packages do.
  • You may train at other classes using a free lesson or by paying extra.
  • Unlimited members can train at any venue, but Advanced Wednesday must be included.
  • Lesson fees are non‑refundable because they secure your place.

Holidays

  • Holidays outside club holiday dates require using a free lesson.
  • If you have no free lessons left, you may move one lesson within the same week only.
  • Otherwise, the missed lesson is charged.

Illness

  • You must give 6 hours’ notice if you’re ill, or you lose the lesson fee.
  • You may move the lesson to another class within the same week.
  • If you become unwell on the way to class, text us immediately.
  • If you’re ill for more than 2 weeks, bring a doctor’s note so we can move your lessons forward.

3. Behaviour & Conduct

Behaviour Expectations

  • We aim to provide a safe, friendly, respectful environment.
  • Zero tolerance for verbal abuse, intimidation, or threats.
  • Serious incidents may result in immediate ban and reporting to authorities.

Membership Misuse

  • If someone else uses your membership, it may be cancelled.

Inappropriate Behaviour

  • Rude, aggressive, or violent behaviour may result in suspension or cancellation.

Non‑Attendance

  • If you do not attend for over one month without notice, your membership may be cancelled.

Complaints

  • Speak to your instructor first.
  • If unresolved, contact Shihan Christine.

4. Membership Fees & Leaving

Membership Fees

  • Fees must be paid on time.
  • Missed payments may be sent to a debt collection agency.
  • If you fall behind by more than 30 days, a £75 admin fee plus £10 per missed payment may apply.
  • Unpaid fees may restrict access for you and linked family members.

Leaving the Club

  • You must give 4 weeks’ written notice and pay for those 4 weeks before leaving.

5. Grading Fees

  • No refunds for missed gradings unless the club caused the issue.
  • Your grading fee is moved to the next available grading.

6. Shop, Payments, Delivery & Returns

Shop Payments

  • You can buy equipment online at sjkkarate.co.uk or bpsjkarate.co.uk.
  • Payment options: Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, PayPal.
  • Items can be delivered or brought to your class for free.
  • You can also buy items in class using Zettle, which adds you to our discount scheme.
  • No cheques accepted.

Delivery

  • Items purchased online can be delivered (P&P applies) or collected at class for free.

Returns & Refunds

  • Faulty items can be returned within 14 days (postage paid by customer).
  • If you change your mind, you also have 14 days to return the item (postage paid by customer).
  • Refund or credit note issued within 14 days.
